risk factors for
acute myeloid leukemia, or
AML.
Age is a main risk factor, and most people diagnosed with AML are over 65. Other risk factors include
smoking, having
radiation therapy or some types of
chemotherapy, being exposed to a chemical called
benzene and having certain
genetic changes.
